Speed Dating Events that Interest Women

Experts in inter-personal relationships agree that when it comes to interaction and dating events, women, as a general rule, are not unreasonably picky when looking for their partner. In a recent study on speed dating, results showed that when women are given the chance of selecting their potential dates; they turn out to be not very choosy as we would have expected them to be.
According to Paul Eastwick and Eli Finkel, renowned Northwestern University psychologists, these new results about woman behavior and psychology debunks the myth that men are less choosy than women when it comes to potential dates. In most of the cases analyzed, the respondents cite the noncommittal nature of such singles parties. Thus, they maintain a more open mind as far as their prospects in singles parties are concerned.
The study that was conducted by Eastwick and Finkel involved 350 students as respondents. These undergraduate students were asked to actually participate in pre-selected speed dating events. Male participants were required to rotate and meet up with each of the women participants in half of these dating events. In the other remaining events, participants switch roles and the women participants were allowed to rotate and meet up with every male participant. The study followed the standard ‘four-minute’ mini-dates setup where the participants are allowed to interact with each of their dates within the specified time frame. After completing the cycle, each of the participants in the dating experiment was asked to post their pick for their dates in a Web site.
The result of the experiment confirmed the long held perception that men are not particularly choosy of their partners in singles parties. What was very revealing about this experiment is the result that was gathered from the women segment of the respondents. The trend indicated that there is no significant difference between the way women pick their male partners and that of their male counterparts. Specifically, the results of the study showed that when men made the rounds 43% of the time the women said yes to their male partners while 50% of the male participants said yes and accepted the invitation of their partners. On the other hand, when it was the turn of the women to rotate, results showed that 45% percent of the time the women answered in the affirmative while 43% of the men said yes to the invitation for a date.
The study results have also showed that gender has no significant contribution as far as dating decision is concerned. Further, those who make the rotate are more inclined to pursue the dating arrangement than those who perform as sitters. The rotators express more interest and respond positively to their partners than the sitters.
The study has proven that when it comes to dating events, women are in fact not choosy of their prospective partners. Experts conclude that this phenomenon is probably due to the strong effect of the physical action towards one’s predisposition and perception. When you are pulling something close, an individual is inclined to find the item more attractive and appealing. This behavioral concept was apparently exhibited by the participants of the experiment of dating events.
